A couple of things we can’t do: recommend specific tile brands, quote installation work, or act as a tile supplier. For installation advice, please consult a licensed tile installer or your local supplier.
How to Get the Fastest, Most Useful Reply
Tile questions are much easier to answer when we can see the numbers you were working with. If you’re reporting a result that looks wrong or asking for help with a project, please include as much of the following as you can:
- Your measurements and units— for example “10 ft × 12 ft floor” or “2.4 m × 3 m,” and whether you used imperial or metric.
- The tile size — such as 12×12 in, 12×24 in, or a custom size in inches or centimeters.
- The layout pattern — straight/grid, diagonal, herringbone, or chevron, since each uses a different waste allowance.
- Any openings or extra surfaces — doors, windows, niches, or multiple walls you added to the calculation.
- What you expected vs. what you saw — the number you were hoping for and the number the calculator returned.
With those details we can usually reproduce your calculation and reply with a clear answer instead of a follow-up question, which saves everyone a round trip.
